Amman — MP Mohammad Aql has called on the Prime Minister to hold a special session bringing together MPs and the government, during which the government would provide a full briefing on Jordan's defense and regional positioning.
Aql questioned Jordan's stance and future outlook regarding the joint defense agreement between Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan — the "Mecca Agreement" — particularly given Jordan's existing alliances with some of these countries. He stressed the need for the government to brief members of parliament directly, rather than leaving them to rely solely on media coverage for information.
