The Jordanian Cabinet held a session on Tuesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan, following the issuance of a Royal Decree approving a cabinet reshuffle. During the session, the Cabinet decided to restructure its primary ministerial committees, placing the Economic Modernization and Development Committee under Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Mohanad Shehadeh, and the Services, Infrastructure, and Social Affairs Committee under Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Eng. Waleed Al-Masri.
​The Prime Minister's Office reaffirmed that appointing two deputy prime ministers aims to strengthen oversight and performance across economic and municipal sectors, boosting execution speed and driving key national development initiatives forward.
​On another front, the Cabinet accepted the resignation of Dr. Youssef Al-Shawarbeh as Chairman of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) Committee, appointing Eng. Ahmad Abdullah Al-Malkawi as his successor. Raya Al-Qadi and Lara Ayoub were also appointed as members of the GAM committee.
​Furthermore, in preparation for the upcoming Industrial Chambers elections scheduled for October 3, 2026, the Cabinet approved dissolving the boards of directors of all Industrial Chambers across the Kingdom effective September 1, 2026. The Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply has been tasked with forming temporary committees to manage the chambers' affairs until elections are conducted, in accordance with Article 19 of the Industrial Chambers Law No. 56 of 2005.
