Around 70,000 worshipers performed Friday prayer at Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in occupied Jerusalem.

The Palestinian News Agency (WAFA) reported that tens of thousands of worshippers flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque since the early morning, while Israeli occupation forces imposed tight security measures around the mosque.

The forces erected metal barricades in the streets of the city and at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque, stopping worshipers, checking their identification cards and searching their belongings.

The occupation authorities have, for three years, barred Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip from reaching Al-Aqsa Mosque to perform the prayer.
