The Foreign Ministers of Jordan, Algeria, Indonesia, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mauritania, Pakistan, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Turkey issued a joint statement strongly condemning recent Israeli airstrikes targeting the Abu al-Duhur military airport in northwestern Syria.
The ministers described the attacks as a dangerous escalation and a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity. The statement expressed deep concern over the continuous targeting of Syrian infrastructure, warning that such actions directly risk undermining Syria's ongoing efforts to restore security, rebuild national institutions, and mitigate the humanitarian impacts of prolonged conflict.
Furthermore, the joint statement emphasized that continued violations threaten to escalate regional tensions, erode respect for international law, and violate the principles of the UN Charter. The 12 nations called on the international community to adopt a firm, principled stance against the attacks, enforce full adherence to the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, demand the withdrawal of Israeli forces from occupied areas, and safeguard regional peace and stability.
