The Arab Group at the United Nations warned on Thursday against escalating Israeli actions in the West Bank and cautioned against undermining efforts to implement the Gaza roadmap.
In a statement delivered by Qatar’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani, during the Security Council’s monthly session on "The Situation in the Middle East, Including the Palestinian Question," the group rejected all measures aimed at perpetuating the occupation and imposing Israeli sovereignty over Palestinian territories.
The group strongly condemned illegal Israeli settlement expansion across the occupied Palestinian territory, expressing full rejection of the E1 settlement scheme and associated colonial activities east of occupied Jerusalem.
Additionally, the Arab Group denounced ongoing violations targeting Al-Aqsa Mosque and reaffirmed its firm support for the historical Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
