Israeli forces have withdrawn from the Qalandia Vocational Training Center, an institution affiliated with the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), located in Kafr Aqab, north of occupied Jerusalem. The withdrawal follows a four-day raid and military occupation of the facility's buildings, according to an Al-Mamlaka correspondent.
In the wake of the incident, the European Union—alongside Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom—reaffirmed its steadfast support for UNRWA.
On Tuesday, Israeli troops forcibly evacuated the training center, seized control of the compound, and raised the Israeli flag in its courtyard. The takeover occurred just one day after a delegation of 28 diplomatic missions visited the site for a field briefing on the ongoing violations and threats the center faces.
Jordan strongly condemned the Israeli authorities' storming and evacuation of the UNRWA facility in occupied Jerusalem, denouncing the actions as a flagrant breach of international law and a direct violation of the immunities and privileges granted to the United Nations and its agencies.
