The Traffic Department announced the deployment of a specialized evening traffic plan for Thursday, covering the post-noon, evening, and late-night periods. The plan includes heightened operational presence near commercial markets and entertainment venues across the capital.
Operational Officer Captain Mosaab Al-Mrayat stated that traffic patrols were deployed early Thursday morning across main entrances, exits, major intersections, and routes leading to schools and universities to ensure continuous traffic flow.
Morning Incidents and Field Adjustments
Istiklal Street Obstruction: Traffic officers cleared a broken-down vehicle located after the Al-Dhaher Bridge exit (heading from Al-Qusour Bridge toward the Interior Ministry Intersection), resolving the resulting morning congestion.
Interior Ministry Underpass: Residual morning traffic heading toward Al-Qusour and Istiklal Street is being cleared, while patrols monitor exiting traffic toward the 4th Circle.
Sports City Intersection: Heavy exiting traffic is being managed by prioritizing movement over the flyover to prevent spillover onto Queen Rania Street. Officers are also clearing traffic buildup at the Press Tunnel exit.
Sweileh & Al-Sawareekh Area: Heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic near the pedestrian signal is being actively managed. Public transport operators are instructed to use designated pickup/drop-off zones for passenger safety.
Status of Key Arteries
Medical City Circle: Smooth traffic movement reported for vehicles coming from Sweileh, as well as traffic flowing from the Safut Tunnel toward the 8th Circle and vice versa toward Khalda.
8th Circle to Airport Road: Smooth two-way traffic flow reported from the 8th Circle flyover toward Al-Nahda and Airport Road, with traffic signals continuously adjusted based on vehicle density.
Zarqa Corridor: Traffic exiting Zarqa at the Mashaghel exit toward the Civil Status Department and Sports City is moving smoothly. Drivers are urged to maintain right-lane discipline.
Monitoring and Public Reporting
The Traffic Department confirmed the use of GPS tracking and surveillance control rooms to monitor primary and secondary roads, enabling rapid field unit dispatch to clear vehicle breakdowns or road hazards.
Citizens are encouraged to utilize the "Sanad" digital application to report traffic safety violations and road observations, which are reviewed and legally processed by traffic authorities.
