BRICS nations, including Russia, China, India, Iran, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, called on Saturday for maximum restraint in the war in the Middle East.

In a joint statement in their summit in New Delhi, the countries expressed deep concern over the continued escalation of tensions in the Middle East/West Asia, according to AFP.

While reiterating our respective national positions, we call for the exercise of utmost restraint and for avoiding actions that could exacerbate the situation, they said.
