Director of Governorate Affairs at the Land Transport Regulatory Commission (LTRC), Eng. Rula Al-Amri, stated that the commission took 79 operational decisions during 2025 and 2026 aimed at developing passenger transport services, boosting capacity, and enhancing fleet and route efficiency across the Kingdom's governorates.
Al-Amri explained on Monday that the decisions comprised 45 decisions in 2025 and 33 in 2026. They included reinforcing passenger transport lines, replacing and renewing buses and vehicles, reallocating services, unifying selected routes, supporting community transport services, developing operational opportunities, and improving services at border crossings.
She added that the decisions aimed to align vehicle numbers and types with demand volume and operational requirements on each route, reinforcing high-demand lines and replacing vehicles to increase capacity and elevate service quality.
The decisions also encompassed unifying certain routes and reallocating transport services to minimize overlap and enhance operational efficiency, as well as expanding the role of cooperative and charitable societies in serving local areas and peripheral communities.
Al-Amri noted that the 2025 decisions covered routes and areas across the capital Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, Balqa, Jerash, Ajloun, Mafraq, Madaba, Tafileh, Ma'an, and Aqaba.
In Irbid, decisions targeted the Irbid–Doqra, Irbid–San'ar, Irbid–Jfin, and Irbid–Engineers Housing routes, alongside organizing the Irbid–Ajloun routes and unifying vehicle operations on the Irbid/Ajloun and Irbid/Ain Janna/Ajloun routes, in addition to transport services tied to Irbid's Eastern District.
In Jerash, the decisions covered the Muqableh–Jerash, Jerash–Baqa'a–University of Jordan, Jerash–Sweileh–University of Jordan, and Balila–Jerash routes. In Ajloun, they extended to the Ajloun–Ajloun Castle–Cable Car route and local transport services in Anjara.
In Mafraq, the decisions addressed the Mafraq–Manshiyat Bani Hasan, Mafraq–Al-Dajaniya, Mafraq–Sweileh, and Mafraq–Manshiyat Al-Qeblan–Al-Dafyana routes, introducing measures to align vehicle numbers and types with operational needs and unify certain routes.
In Zarqa, decisions included the Zarqa–Jabal Tariq route and the Amman–Autostrad–Zarqa route, in addition to issuing a call for proposals to operate passenger lines in the governorate and replacing buses on the Zarqa–Jerash line with medium-sized buses tailored to operational requirements.
In Madaba, decisions covered the Madaba–Mutah University route, including allocating two medium-sized buses, approving the replacement of one bus with two medium-sized buses, and issuing other decisions related to route designations.
Decisions Covering Southern Governorates
In southern Jordan, decisions in Tafileh covered the Tafileh–Amman and Tafileh–Ma'an routes by replacing medium-sized buses with large buses to match demand and operational conditions.
In Ma'an, decisions targeted the Quweira–Ma'an, Mureigha–Ma'an, and Taybeh–Ma'an routes, in addition to the Dalagha–Rajif–Taybeh–Wadi Musa route.
