Member of Parliament Mohammad Jamil Al-Zahrawi sent a message to former MP Shadi Freij, appealing to him to grant forgiveness and pardon to MP Hassan Al-Riyati, invoking their longstanding relationship in Zarqa.
In his message, Al-Zahrawi stated that he has known Freij for many years as a kind, noble, and generous man of chivalry and honor, pointing to his knowledge of Freij's family and maternal uncles from the Al-Absah family, whom he described as people of goodness, authenticity, and generosity.
Al-Zahrawi added that he addresses Freij as a son of Ma'an and his former neighbor in Zarqa, who has always been known for his big heart and authentic magnanimity.
He noted that MP Hassan Al-Riyati remains behind bars, leaving behind a family struggling under difficult circumstances and the severity of his absence, including three daughters with disabilities who require their father's presence, care, and affection.
Al-Zahrawi pointed out that Al-Riyati has lost years of his life, lost his parliamentary seat, and experienced, along with his family, the bitterness of separation, leaving behind a home burdened with hardship.
Emphasizing that forgiveness does not diminish a man's dignity or prestige, Al-Zahrawi affirmed that it increases one's standing among people and before God. He noted that he is not asking Freij to compromise his dignity, but rather appealing to his spirit of tolerance, chivalry, and the good origin known of him and his family.
Al-Zahrawi concluded his message by appealing to Freij—in his own name and on behalf of well-wishers and reformers across the nation—to announce his pardon and forgiveness for the sake of Almighty God, opening a new page defined by love, tolerance, and benevolence.
