AMMAN — Zain Regional Data Center for Data Storage, Information, and Disaster Recovery (THE BUNKER) has earned, for the second time, the Tier III Gold Certification of Operational Sustainability (TCOS) from the global Uptime Institute, specialized in evaluating data center performance, resilience, sustainability, and efficiency. This certification ranks among the highest awarded by the institute in design, operational sustainability, and maintenance for Tier III data centers.
This certification confirms the advanced level enjoyed by the center in operational efficiency, readiness, and business continuity, as well as its capacity to implement global best practices in managing and operating data centers to guarantee reliable and secure 24/7 services for clients. It joins the list of international accreditations earned by the center from the Uptime Institute, following its acquisition of the Tier III Design Certification in 2018 and the Tier III Constructed Facility Certification in 2019.
Zain celebrated this achievement during a luncheon bringing together several partners and enterprise clients. Lina Barakat, Executive Director of the Enterprise Business Department at Zain Jordan, received the certification shield from the representative of the Uptime Institute. The milestone underscores the center's advanced standing and the company's ongoing development of its advanced digital infrastructure and solutions supporting business sector needs across the Kingdom.
The significance of the center comes amid accelerating digital transformation and rising cyber threats and attacks, as it contributes to enhancing organizational readiness, protecting digital assets and data, and enabling businesses to maintain service continuity under all circumstances. This reinforces the reliability and security of the Kingdom's digital economy ecosystem while supporting Jordan's standing as an advanced regional hub for digital infrastructure, information security, and data protection.
The center continues to solidify its position as an advanced data facility in the region, having won the Middle East Technology Excellence Award 2025 in the Telecommunications Data Center category presented by Asian Business Review magazine, adding to its track record of global accreditations.
Zain's center is the first of its kind in the region specializing in data storage, information management, and disaster recovery. Located in King Hussein Business Park across an area of approximately 4,300 square meters, it provides an integrated suite of services, including server colocation, cloud computing, data storage, disaster recovery, and network and data protection against cyberattacks.
