Tens of thousands of worshipers performed Friday prayer at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem amid heightened military measures and restrictions imposed by Israeli occupation forces.

Palestinian media reported that thousands of worshipers began arriving at Al-Aqsa Mosque early in the morning to perform prayers.

Israeli occupation forces deployed large numbers of troops across the streets of Jerusalem, around the Old City and at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque. They also set up military checkpoints, stopped numerous young men, checked their identification documents and prevented them from reaching the mosque.
