Al-Faisaly suffered a harsh 1-0 defeat against Al-Hussein in the final minutes of the match within the seventh round of the Pro League. Despite this loss, Al-Faisaly maintained its position at the top of the standings with 14 points, holding a two-point lead over its nearest pursuer, Al-Ramtha, and three points ahead of both Al-Hussein and Al-Wehdat.
This loss arrived as a painful blow to Al-Faisaly following its 2-2 draw against Al-Jazeera, prior to losing to Saudi Arabia's Al-Taawoun a few days ago in Amman within the third round of the AFC Champions League Two.
The loss did not pass lightly among Al-Faisaly Club's supporters, as fans poured their anger onto the technical manager and the players, holding them responsible for the defeat and the severe decline in performance recently. Fans called for the dismissal of technical director Tarek Moustafa, alongside demands for the departure of certain board members who have not proven their competence throughout this period.
Meanwhile, the foreign players' file did not escape criticism following their modest performances, despite having been brought in upon the recommendation of the technical director. Supporters questioned the evaluations conducted by specialized committees within the club regarding their overall level, especially since all of them have demonstrated a lack of accountability and oversight.
It has become increasingly clear that technical director Tarek Moustafa—whom Al-Faisaly's management previously emphasized was selected based on recommendations from several experienced, high-level managers in Egyptian football as the most suitable to lead the "Leader" (Al-Zaeem) due to his tactical intellect and coaching capabilities—presents a reality today that does not reflect an ability to rotate the current squad, particularly given the abundance of star players who have not appeared to date and have not been granted sufficient opportunity.
This situation can only be interpreted as an absence of tactical vision on the part of the technical staff and its assistant crew, considering that Al-Faisaly was regarded as the most prepared club since the start of the league. Consequently, Al-Faisaly's current competitive form satisfies neither its supporters nor the requirements of the current phase, placing Al-Faisaly and its technical leadership under intense scrutiny, particularly as the club competes simultaneously on both domestic and Asian fronts.
For a team that cost "millions," secured such a volume of high-level signings, and raised supporter expectations for Al-Faisaly to claim the title this season without alternative, it is unacceptable for committees to remain unaccountable, nor is it reasonable for evaluations not to take place immediately after every match in which Al-Faisaly stumbles or draws, as championships demand victories and nothing less.
Today, Al-Hneiti and his colleagues face intense fan outrage that must be contained by securing victories and restoring the prestige and passion of the "Leader" both domestically and continentally.
