Since the atrocious crime in the peaceful and honorable village of Humud in Karak—a town bearing a rich national, human, scholarly, and religious heritage cherished by all Jordanians—the eyes of the nation have not slept, heavy with grief and pain over the massacre that claimed the lives of innocent martyrs while gathered at a place of worship for a funeral service.
Despite this heinous act that pained the hearts of all Jordanians—led by His Majesty King Abdullah II—His Majesty's confident stance reflected absolute trust in our security institutions to track down the terrorists and strike with an iron fist against these outlaws.
While the crime deeply pained us all, it never weakened the resolve of our security forces, who successfully brought down and arrested the perpetrators on Monday morning without recording a single injury among their ranks, thanks be to God.
The speed and precision with which our professional security leadership handled the operation—drawing on vast experience in combating terrorism both within and beyond Jordan’s borders—demonstrated meticulous planning and execution. This swift resolution brought relief to the hearts of all Jordanians, who now await the full findings on those behind this hideous crime.
Jordan—with its Hashemite leadership, its Arab Army, the General Intelligence Department, and the Public Security Directorate—combines historical authenticity with a noble mission, possessing the national awareness and cohesion necessary to overcome any challenge.
Our duty today as citizens is to reject all rhetoric of incitement, skepticism, and malicious rumors that do not serve the national interest.
Ensuring the safety of the homeland and the unity of its people requires a deep-rooted role from the family, the mosque, the church, the school, the university, civil society institutions, and political parties in instilling a culture of love, brotherhood, and constructive discourse. We must maintain absolute support for our Armed Forces and security services under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.
May God keep all discord, both seen and unseen, far from our nation.
