​The House of Representatives adjourned its session on Monday following the election of MP Ibrahim Al-Tarawneh as Speaker of the House and MP Ayatullah Freihat as First Deputy Speaker, while elections for the Second Deputy Speaker were not completed after multiple MPs nominated themselves for the position.
​The adjournment followed the walkout of the "Mubadara" and "Azem" blocks, triggered by their dissatisfaction with the results of the First Deputy Speaker election. The outcome diverged from prior agreements among parliamentary blocks, which had previously concluded with the nomination of MP Ahmad Al-Hmeisat for the post.
​The voting process witnessed a shift from earlier consensus, as votes swung in favor of MP Ayatullah Freihat, who secured the position with 88 votes. This outcome overturned previous understandings and drew objections from both blocks.
​Consequently, elections for the Second Deputy Speaker were not finalized, coinciding with the adjournment of the session, while the remaining elections were postponed to Tuesday.
