During talks with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana on Thursday, His Majesty King Abdullah II emphasized that Jordan will not compromise in combating terrorism and extremism, and will not allow anyone to threaten the Kingdom's security or harm its citizens.
His Majesty commended Kazakhstan's efforts in hosting a new round of the "Aqaba Process" initiative regarding artificial intelligence security, noting that this reflects a shared commitment to addressing regional and international security challenges.
During the talks, which focused on ways to consolidate Jordanian-Kazakhstani relations and prominent regional developments, His Majesty highlighted the depth and strength of friendship bonds between the two countries, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to peace and stability.
In the presence of Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, Chief Religious and Cultural Advisor to His Majesty and Personal Envoy, the King expressed Jordan's keenness to develop cooperation with Kazakhstan in key sectors such as trade, investment, technology, defense, mining, uranium, and tourism, noting the importance of establishing a direct flight route between the two countries.
Regarding regional developments, His Majesty affirmed that Jordan and Kazakhstan agree that the two-state solution is the sole path toward achieving peace and stability, noting that Israel cannot be allowed to continue its attacks in Jerusalem, Gaza, and the West Bank, alongside its attempts to violate the sovereignty of Arab countries.
His Majesty called upon the international community to assume its responsibilities to end escalation in the region, affirming Jordan's continued work with its partners, including Kazakhstan, to achieve this goal.
On his part, the Kazakhstani President stated that Jordan is a reliable partner for Kazakhstan in the Arab world, pointing to the alignment of views between the two countries on numerous regional and international issues.
President Tokayev noted that economic integration is essential for relations between the two countries, highlighting the importance of agreements in the fields of trade, investment, industry, agriculture, energy, and technology.
His Majesty received the "Al-Farabi" Order from President Tokayev, which symbolizes the rapprochement between Kazakhstan and the Arab world in science and Islamic studies, marking the first award of its kind presented to a head of state.
His Majesty also bestowed upon the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Order of Al-Hussein bin Ali, in appreciation of fraternal ties and to deepen distinguished historical relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.
The talks were attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Majdi Al-Hrasees, General Intelligence Director Major General Ahmed Husni, Director of His Majesty's Office Alaa Batayneh, and Jordan's Ambassador to Kazakhstan Hamza Al-Omari.
