The Arab Bank signed a cooperation agreement with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature with the aim of establishing a line for the production of liquid soap within the Soap House project in the Ajloun Forest Reserve.
This cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature comes as an embodiment of the Arab Bank’s mission to support efforts aimed at achieving sustainable community and environmental development by supporting and developing initiatives that have a positive economic, social and environmental impact, and supporting environmental protection projects and using them as a means to increase economic opportunities and improve the standard of living of local communities.
Under the agreement, the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature will work on implementing a project to produce liquid soap due to the increasing demand and based on the research and studies conducted by the Society to improve the experience of visitors to the reserves and meet their additional needs. It will work to introduce a new product to the current soap factory, which is liquid soap made from olive oil. Pure soap, which enhances the integration of production between the soap factory in the Ajloun area and the pottery and ceramics factory in the Dibeen Forest Reserve. Liquid soap will also be produced in the Ajloun area and packaged in incubators made of pottery in the Dibeen Forest Reserve, which contributes to supporting the protection of nature in the region.
In this context, Mr. Fadi Al-Nasser, Director General of the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, said: “This agreement comes as an important step towards enhancing sustainability and protecting nature. It will also contribute to providing additional job opportunities and improving the income of the local community around the reserve.
It is worth noting here that the Arab Bank adopts a comprehensive and integrated strategy in terms of sustainability, which reflects the bank’s keenness to enhance its economic, social and environmental impact by working closely with various relevant parties to achieve sustainable development. The Arab Bank’s social responsibility program “Together” represents one of the fruits of this trend, and it is a multi-faceted program that focuses on developing various aspects of society through various initiatives and activities that contribute to serving several sectors, namely health, combating poverty, protecting the environment, education, supporting orphans, and empowering women.
