Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s threat to attack Rafah is “a challenge to the world, including the United States.”

He added on the X platform on Saturday that another massacre of 2.3 million Palestinians who are starving due to the Israeli siege cannot be allowed.

He pointed out that the Security Council must put an end to this catastrophe, and the resolution must be adopted, even if just to say “no to mass killing.”


Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that Israel hopes to enter Rafah with American support, stressing that his country "will launch its attack alone if it is forced to do so, even without Washington's support."

He added in press statements after meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken that he thanked Blinken for Washington's standing by Israel over the past five months, explaining that he informed Blinken that "there is no way to defeat Hamas without entering Rafah and eliminating the rest of the brigades there."
