Kuwait's Ambassador to Jordan, Hamad Al-Marri, said on Monday that Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations are a model to be emulated in Arab-Arab relations and a symbol of strengthening joint Arab action.
This came on the occasion of the visit of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, to Jordan, which is his first to the Kingdom since he assumed the reins of power.
Ambassador Al-Marri said that the Jordanian-Kuwaiti relationship is “solid and growing stronger” under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and his brother, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and its basis is unity of position, interdependence, conformity of positions on Arab issues, and permanent coordination between the two brotherly countries.
He believed that this visit, which is a “state visit,” comes because of Jordan’s special and distinguished status in the State of Kuwait, pointing out the congruence of official and popular positions on the central Arab issue, which is the Palestinian issue, and supporting the brotherly Palestinian people in regional and international forums until the Israeli occupation is ended, a just peace is achieved, and a state is established. Palestine and its capital, East Jerusalem.
Al-Marri explained that the Jordanian-Kuwaiti relations are historical and date back to the year 1961 and are framed by 73 partnership and cooperation agreements in various fields, which ensures their continuation and development in the interest of the two brotherly countries.
He stressed that Kuwait is one of the largest countries investing in Jordan in various fields, as the volume of government and private investments amounts to about 20 billion dollars in development, education, energy, industry and other sectors, as the two sides are constantly working to develop and increase the volume of these investments.
Al-Marri appreciated the Jordanian official and popular welcome to this important visit, which reflects the distinguished position of the State of Kuwait, its leadership and its people, among the Jordanian people.
His Highness the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the accompanying official delegation are scheduled to head to the Kingdom tomorrow, Tuesday, on a state visit.
