The alleged "Temple groups" continue to mobilize their supporters from the extremist settlers, to implement their plan to introduce and slaughter the Jewish Passover "offerings" inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The organizations of the alleged temple called for a massive storming of the mosque, at midnight before the Jewish Passover, on the twenty-third of this month, to offer the “sacrifice.”
Passover is a major holiday for the Jews. It is celebrated on the anniversary of the exodus of the “Children of Israel” from Egypt. It is religiously prohibited to work on its first and last day, and it lasts for seven days.
The "Temple Organizations" asked their supporters to gather at the Mughrabi Gate at ten o'clock at night and bring their offerings to storm the mosque at midnight that night to present the "offerings" inside the mosque.
The settler associations allocated a financial reward of 50,000 shekels (about 13,000 US dollars) for every settler who succeeds in storming the mosque and slaughtering a “qorban” in its courtyards that night.
According to the biblical teachings promoted by these extremists, the “offering” must be slaughtered on the eve of Easter, and its blood should be sprinkled at the dome of the chain, which serves as a “moral revival” of the temple.
Since 2016, the alleged Temple groups have been conducting a simulation of slaughtering the “Easter sacrifice” in places far from Al-Aqsa Mosque, in preparation for carrying it out inside the mosque.
In 2016, after the settler associations confirmed the mastery of the “sacrificial ritual,” they moved the “simulation” to the Mount of Olives, east of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In 2017, the “Temple Communities” transported the Eucharist into the Old City of Jerusalem in front of the “Synagogue of Destruction,” for the first time since the occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In 2018, the simulation of the sacrifice was carried out at the Umayyad palaces adjacent to the southern wall of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in 2019, it was offered in the Old City near Al-Lahhamin Market overlooking the mosque, while in 2021 it was offered in the square of the “Davidson Center” inside the Mughrabi Gate in the wall of the Holy City.
In 2022, extremist groups carried out a “sacrifice” simulation in the Umayyad palace area adjacent to the mosque.
This year, 2024, the attempt to bring “the sacrifice” into Al-Aqsa Mosque entails great danger, in light of the extremist government of Benjamin Netanyahu, and the world’s preoccupation with the massacres taking place against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.
The danger of the settlers’ success in introducing sacrifices and slaughtering them in Al-Aqsa Mosque lies in completing the cycle of biblical “worship,” especially since they carried out most of the rituals related to the Temple inside Al-Aqsa, such as blowing the trumpet on New Year’s Eve, and offering plant sacrifices on Sukkot.
By achieving the slaughter of the sacrifices, the mosque becomes a “temple” from a moral standpoint, which will push the settlers and their associations to implement the material part, which means the beginning of the division of Al-Aqsa Mosque in time and space, as happened in the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron.
The occupation authorities exploit Jewish holidays and events to restrict Palestinians and impose collective punishments against them, by closing checkpoints and tightening military measures on them, impeding the movement of Palestinians and preventing them from reaching holy places, while facilitating settlers’ incursions into Palestinian cities and Islamic and archaeological shrines in the West Bank. Especially the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
