At least 78 people, including 20 children and senior military commanders, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Tehran, according to Iran’s ambassador to the UN Amir Iravani.

Iranian state TV reported Saturday that 60 people were killed in a strike targeting a residential compound in the capital. The total death toll from the Israeli attacks, confirmed by Iravani on Friday, also includes over 320 injured.

The assault marks one of the deadliest escalations in the recent wave of hostilities between Israel and Iran.
