Industry Minister Ya’rub Qudah says Jordan received the lowest tariff hike among countries with free trade deals or surpluses with US, following recent negotiations.

He told Al Mamlaka Friday that the 15% tariff imposed on Jordan, compared to higher rates on competing nations, boosts the competitiveness of Jordanian exports in the US market.

Qudah confirmed the free trade agreement with the US remains in effect, granting Jordan this preferential status. Tariffs on most other countries range from 15% to 40%, while Jordan got the lowest rate.
