Government unveils package of strategic industrial investment opportunities classified as national priority, targeting advanced industries such as drone component manufacturing, semiconductor production and advanced data centres.
Projects roll out under integrated public–private partnership framework, according to Ministry of Investment opportunities cited by Al Mamlaka. Package open to local and international investors, aligning with policy push to drive growth in energy, logistics and infrastructure while cutting risk and speeding implementation through dedicated zones, incentives and supportive regulations.
Flagship projects include production of components for unmanned aerial vehicles, manufacture of lightweight composite structures using carbon fibre and fibreglass for commercial and defence drones, as well as high-efficiency electric motors, specialised propulsion systems and customised drone parts.
Package also covers semiconductor manufacturing through establishment of assembly, testing and packaging lines backed by advanced laboratories and quality control systems to meet local and regional demand.
Other opportunities include battery manufacturing for wireless and electronic devices, from cell production to assembly of tailored power packs for electronics, telecom equipment, drones and light vehicles, in line with international standards.
Government proposes establishment of first urea and ammonia plant using natural gas near Risha gas field. Portfolio includes metal casting and forming projects using reusable moulds to produce complex industrial and military components, with finishing and heat-treatment capabilities.
Additional projects span printed circuit board manufacturing for electronics, telecommunications, medical devices and defence uses, alongside metal forging for high-strength components serving defence, automotive and heavy machinery sectors.
Telecom projects include manufacturing antennas and radio-frequency cables across multiple frequency bands for civilian and military applications.
In ICT sector, strategic projects aim to support digital transformation, including manufacturing data centre components and developing next-generation data centres to serve cloud computing, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things and big data analytics, with integrated cyber security and energy-efficient systems.
