U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that the United States is conducting negotiations with Iran, asserting that Washington "will get what it wants one way or another."
During press remarks at the White House, Trump added that the United States will not allow Iran to possess a nuclear weapon, emphasizing that Washington wants the Strait of Hormuz to remain open "without any fees being imposed."
He pointed out that the United States "will obtain the highly enriched uranium and destroy it," stressing that "it cannot be allowed to remain in Iran."
He continued by stating that the United States "completely controls the Strait of Hormuz through the blockade, which forms a steel wall," adding that his country has "wiped out 75% of Iran's missile capabilities."
Trump further noted that the U.S. Navy is "doing a good job," considering that "no ships are arriving in or departing from Iran due to the naval blockade."
He also indicated that estimates suggest Iran is incurring losses of up to $500 million per day.
