Yesterday evening, Thursday, the main square in the ancient city of Jerash, as part of the activities of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts, which is being held in its 37th session under the slogan “The Joy Continues”, in which the Arab Republic of Egypt will be the guest of honor of the festival, attracted a wide audience that interacted with the activities of its program.
The events of the arena included distinguished participation by the Saudi Performing Arts Troupe, the Mexican "Lolita Menchaco - I Love You Mexico" troupe, and the popular creations operetta troupe from Egypt, which presented colors and artistic performances and lyric paintings of Egyptian folk arts in its various regions, and the Jordanian Fairwan Ensemble.
Artists Muhammad al-Saqqar, Falah al-Ajrami, Muhammad al-Manasir and Muhammad Qawza also participated in the activities of the arena yesterday evening, with paragraphs of patriotic songs and songs drawn from the Jordanian folklore and the Levantine heritage. While it was presented at the Artemis Theater yesterday evening, a poetry evening in which the poets of the city of Jerash, Muhammad Mahasneh, Dr. Linda Obaid and Marwan Al-Atoum participated, and it was presented by Dr. Hani Al-Rawashdeh.
The activities of Artemis also included a concert presented by the Choir and the Folklore Band of Yarmouk University.
As for the Sound and Light Theatre, it included activities for children, in which the play “It Is Said That” was presented by Khaled Al-Maslamani and the Family and Child Carnival by Khalil Al-Hais.
The Street of Columns, which connects the ancient city to its various sites, was full of movement and joy, as it included various activities that attracted different age groups and the family in general, including traditional food, face painting and storytelling with Jordanian and Saudi participation, playing the Rababa, cartoon characters, clowns, and the Egyptian Nafikha Ensemble.
As for the activities of the festival in Amman, the Odeon Amphitheater in the center of the country witnessed a distinguished concert, in which the Jordanian artists Bashar Al-Sarhan, Ahmed Abanda and Saleh Krasneh participated, who entertained the audience with an abundance of patriotic songs, the Jordanian folk heritage, the legacy of the Levant and Arabic singing.
Amman's activities, which were held in the circular theater, also included a play by Sassoon Dance from Jordan and an Emirati musical art evening by Oud player Abdulaziz Al-Madani and Qanun player Omar Bawazir.
The activities of the circular theater also included the event of the Fragrant Color Art Forum.
Meanwhile, Jordanian artists Odeh Ziyadat, Muhammad Abu Ghraib and Imad Al-Khawaldeh sang on the main stage at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman, with a bouquet of patriotic songs, the Jordanian folklore, the Levantine heritage, and tarabic Arabic songs.
The festival's activities continue in its 37th session in the ancient city and in a number of sites in Amman and a number of governorates.
