Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of Al-Ahliyya Amman University and President of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities, on Thursday evening, 27-7-2023, the Jordanian Universities Taekwondo Championship competitions for male and female students, organized by the Jordanian Universities Sports Federation in cooperation with the Jordanian Taekwondo Federation, were concluded in the Arena Sports Complex. Al-Ahliyya Amman University during the period 26-27/7/2023.
The Al-Ahliyya Amman University Taekwondo team for students won second place in the overall total with two gold medals won by each of the student Mahmoud Al-Tarayrah for the weight category under 63 kg and the student Bahaa Abu Hudaib for the weight category under 80 kg, in addition to A bronze medal for the student Amer Al-Assaf in the under-54 kg category.
While the female students team ranked fourth after winning 5 colored medals, distributed as a gold medal for the student Bana Daraghmeh in the weight category under 63 kg, in addition to 4 bronze medals for the student Dana Al Madadaha in the weight category under 46 kg, and Catherine Tarish in the weight category under 49 kg. And Hala Tarish for the weight category under 73 kg and Ronita Abu Rumman for the weight category over 73 kg.
At the end of the championship competitions, Dr. Mustafa Atiyat, Dean of Student Affairs and Secretary of the Sports Federation of Jordanian Universities, representing the University President, accompanied by Mr. Faisal Al-Abdallat, Secretary of the Jordanian Taekwondo Federation, crowned the players and teams that won the first three places.
It is worth noting that the university’s male team was represented by: Amer Salama Al-Assaf, Mahmoud Ibrahim Al-Tarayrah, Muhammad Salah Al-Din Abu Al-Anein, Bahaa Al-Din Ibrahim Abu Hudaib and Osama Muhammad Awad, while the female students’ team was represented by: Dana Majid Al-Madadaha, Catherine Ahmed Tarish Bana Jamil Daraghmeh, Bana Iyad Muhammad, Nermin Ahmed Tarish, Hala Ahmed Tarish and Ronita Marwan Abu Rumman, with the follow-up of the sports activity supervisors at the university, Mr. Suhaib Al-Tarawneh and Ms. Areen Qutaishat.
