U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned a blockade imposed by Israeli settlers on Palestinian homes in the West Bank town of Qusra, south of Nablus, describing the actions as "appalling intimidation" and "thug behavior."
The siege began on Sunday when settlers set up a temporary tent near several homes—including one belonging to a Palestinian-American family—restricting the entry of essential supplies to the area. Writing on X (formerly Twitter), Huckabee characterized the actions as abhorrent, stating that there is no justification for such behavior.
Israeli forces declared the area a closed military zone on Wednesday and removed a tent used by the settlers. By Thursday, military authorities confirmed the dismantling of two illegal outposts, the seizure of equipment, and the arrest of one individual, though local residents reported that settlers remained in the vicinity.
