The Jordanian government announced the completion of 92% of its first-half targets for 2026 under the second executive program for public sector modernization, delivering 78 executive outputs.
The government explained that the upcoming phase will focus on measuring the impact of modernization projects on the quality of services provided to citizens, alongside continuing the transition toward a paperless government. It added that work is currently underway to establish performance and impact indicators to serve as national assessment tools, with results published periodically and made accessible to the public.
Digital government service maturity in Jordan reached 71% during the first half of 2026, as the government expanded the use of data, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies to support decision-making and enhance government operational efficiency, according to the progress report on the second executive program for public sector modernization for 2026.
The report revealed the identification of five priority use cases for developing and deploying AI agents across five government entities, paving the way to expand their application during the second half of the year.
On the digital transformation front, the first edition of the National Digital Transformation Framework was drafted to unify standards and raise government entities' maturity in implementing digital practices, while Jordan ranked 49th globally on the Responsible AI Index.
In data management, the National Data Program was implemented, and data maturity assessments were completed for all ministries to integrate them into the program. Additionally, 23 government data teams were trained to strengthen national capabilities in data governance and data-driven decision-making.
