Irbid District Electricity Company (IDECO) and Al al-Bayt University signed a cooperation agreement today aimed at strengthening partnership between both entities, supporting students, and preparing them to meet labor market demands, thereby raising their readiness and competitiveness, particularly in fields and specializations related to the energy sector.
The agreement comes within the framework of both parties' direction toward fostering integration between academic environments and practical applications, as well as aligning educational outcomes with actual labor market needs to enable students to acquire practical experience and skills that enhance their future career prospects.
Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will collaborate to review the majors and academic fields offered by the university, proposing means and programs to develop them in alignment with labor market requirements, particularly in fields related to the energy sector.
The agreement also grants university students practical training opportunities at Irbid District Electricity Company during their study years, integrated into practical coursework tied to study plans and academic programs offered by the university. This provides students with an opportunity to experience real-world work environments, apply their academic knowledge, and develop their professional and technical skills.
Furthermore, the agreement includes efforts by the company, within available resources, to contribute to employing students who complete their training, in addition to issuing certified certificates confirming the completion of a six-month training and qualification period, thereby enhancing their professional portfolios and supporting their competitiveness in the job market.
During the signing ceremony, the General Manager of Irbid District Electricity Company, Eng. Bashar Al-Tamimi, praised the importance of this initiative, emphasizing that the agreement represents a practical step toward strengthening cooperation between the energy sector and higher education institutions. He noted that it prepares students with the knowledge, experience, and skills required by the workplace, enhancing their readiness and competitive edge, while reflecting positively on both entities through mutual leverage of academic and practical expertise.
For his part, the President of Al al-Bayt University, Prof. Dr. Osama Nseir, affirmed that cooperation with Irbid District Electricity Company will open broader horizons for students to acquire applied skills and experience. He highlighted that this initiative will positively impact students, the university, and the company alike, furthering integration across education, training, and qualification to serve development and support investment in national talent.
