The activities of the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts in its 37th session were concluded yesterday evening, which came under the slogan "The Joy Continues". In the main square in Jerash archaeological site.
The closing ceremony took place, in the presence of the Chairman of the Higher Committee of the Festival, Minister of Culture, Haifa Al-Najjar, Governor of Jerash Firas Al-Faour, Chairman of the Jerash Governorate Council, Raed Al-Atoum, Mayor of Greater Jerash Municipality Ahmed Hashem Al-Atoum, and the Executive Director of the Festival, Ayman Samawi.
On behalf of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Prime Minister inaugurated the activities of this session on July 26, in the presence of the Minister of Culture, Head of the Higher Committee of the Festival, Haifa Al-Najjar, a number of ministers, the Minister of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, and the Minister of Culture of the Lebanese Republic, Judge Muhammad Wissam Al-Mortada And a number of Jordanian officials and heads of Arab and foreign diplomatic missions, in addition to Arab guests, intellectuals, artists, journalists, and Jordanian, Arab and foreign media professionals.
Al-Najjar said, in a press statement on the occasion of the closing ceremony, that Jordan is located in the heart of the world, symbolically and realistically, and enjoys a Hashemite leadership whose rule is based on tolerance, wisdom, and interest in culture that is sponsored by His Majesty King Abdullah II and his auspicious Crown Prince, under whose patronage the festival is held.
She stressed that Jordan will remain a beacon and a haven for prosperity and a warm embrace for its people and all its visitors.
She pointed out that the 37th session of the Jerash Festival, which bore the slogan "And Joy Continues," was an extension of the blessed year that brought with it many good occasions, foremost of which was the occasion of the marriage of His Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince.
She emphasized that the Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts will remain a title of serious and active culture and identity, and part of the national narrative written by Jordan's creators and artists for generations.
Al-Najjar said that this course was distinguished by the intensity and diversity of its programs and the number of participants in terms of individuals and countries, and in terms of the artistic and cultural program, which was not limited to the ancient city, but expanded to a number of Jordanian cities.
She indicated that the Jerash Festival represents partnership and participatory to highlight the national cultural diversity, allowing the participation of its creators, empowering women and youth, and allowing people with disabilities to participate in the festival to integrate them into society. of the national identity.
Al-Najjar, the guest of honor of the festival, singled out the Arab Republic of Egypt for its active contribution, which enriched the festival program with its ancient heritage and fine arts. She also appreciated the qualitative participation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which enriched the festival programs with the fragrant heritage of its ancient heritage, in addition to the distinguished participation of the State of Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman.
Al-Najjar expressed her thanks to the Governor of Jerash, the head of its municipality and its council, and to all the supporters, sponsors, and partners from official institutions and the private sector, media institutions and security services, whose noble stance had a great impact on the success of the festival.
The Minister of Culture expressed her thanks to the Jordanian cultural bodies, artists, poets, critics and craftsmen who were at the level of national responsibility in upholding the values of the homeland, and to the brotherly Arab countries and friendly countries for their active participation in the activities of the International Festival, with what they added of the heritage and arts of their countries.
Al-Najjar concluded by thanking the executive director of the festival and the festival team, management and site, for their efforts in translating the visions of the higher committee of the festival, and making it a success in a way that reflects Jordan's cultural and historical image.
The 37th session of the festival witnessed expansion, diversity and diversity in its artistic and cultural programs and facilities, which were taken from the theaters and sites of the ancient city of Jerash, the Royal Cultural Center, the “Odeon” archaeological theater, Abdali Boulevard, Osama Al-Mashini Theater, Abdul Hamid Shoman Cultural Forum, the National Library Department Hall, Al-Hussein Cultural Center and headquarters The Jordanian Writers Association in Amman and the governorates, and the headquarters of the Jordanian Writers and Writers Union in Amman, in addition to sites in a number of Jordanian governorates, a home for its activities that attracted large audiences.
This session also witnessed many and varied activities that catered to different tastes, societal segments and age groups, and with wide local, Arab and international artistic and cultural participation.
The festival was distinguished by giving the Jordanian artist and poet great priority and special importance in many events, in addition to its celebration of the centenary of Al-Salt Secondary School, in addition to the distinction and breadth of its cultural program, in which a large number of Jordanian and Arab creators participated in Jerash, Amman and a number of governorates, in addition to the interest in cultural industries. Creativity and a display of handicraft and folkloric products in the pavilion of Arab and foreign embassies, exhibits of Jordanian handicraft and heritage products and textiles, and a forum for plastic art (symposium) for Jordanian and Arab artists.
Al-Najjar extinguished the flame of the festival in the main square in the "Archaeological Jerash", announcing the end of the activities of the 37th session, which received wide resonance in its successes with various local, Arab and international media.
