​The Jordan Meteorological Department warned on Tuesday against direct exposure to sunlight for extended periods in the coming days, as Jordan is set to be affected by a hot air mass originating from the Arabian Peninsula starting Thursday.
​The department urged citizens to exercise caution and avoid direct sunlight, particularly during peak hours, while emphasizing the importance of staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water and fluids, and ensuring flammable materials are not left inside enclosed vehicles.
​The weather department explained that the hot air mass will begin affecting Jordan on Thursday, bringing a slight rise in temperatures. Relatively hot weather will prevail across most regions, while extremely hot conditions are expected in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
​Temperatures will continue to rise on Friday, resulting in hot weather across most areas and extremely hot conditions in the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Winds are expected to be moderate northeasterly, occasionally becoming gusty.
​The Jordan Meteorological Department reiterated its call to adhere to safety and prevention guidelines during heatwaves, avoid prolonged direct sun exposure, maintain continuous hydration, and refrain from leaving flammable items inside sealed vehicles.
