Canada has provided Jordan with JOD 23.81 million in funding aimed at creating economic opportunities for women and youth, as well as supporting refugees and host communities, according to Canadian Minister of State for International Development Randeep Sarai.
​Sarai commended Jordan’s substantial efforts in assisting refugees and affirmed that Canada will continue its support through the World Food Programme (WFP) and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
​According to the Canadian Embassy, the funding allocates JOD 20.38 million toward economic empowerment and JOD 3.42 million for refugees and host communities. The breakdown includes:
​Women’s Employment in Green Economy: JOD 4.99 million to boost employment in the manufacturing sector.
​Agri-Food Transformation: JOD 5.15 million to foster green jobs in horticulture and agricultural manufacturing through circular economy practices.
​Women's Economic Inclusion: JOD 5.10 million to support entrepreneurship within the green economy.
​Women-Led Enterprise Support: JOD 5.15 million to nurture high-potential small businesses led by women through growth-accelerating innovations.
​UNHCR Partnership: JOD 1.80 million to grant refugees, marginalized groups, and host communities access to life-saving aid, food relief, healthcare, shelter, and protection.
​WFP Partnership: JOD 1.62 million to deliver targeted emergency food assistance and combat acute food insecurity.
