AMMAN (August 27, 2026) — Jordanian Member of Parliament Ahmad Al-Raqab submitted an official parliamentary memorandum to the Minister of Education and Human Resources Development, conveying urgent demands from students, educators, and parents regarding the Advanced English curriculum for the General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) 2009 cohort.
​MP Al-Raqab urged the Ministry to issue an immediate decision addressing the following key demands:
​Curriculum Reduction: Delete at least one to two units from the Advanced English syllabus due to its dense content and heavy workload, aligning with previous cohorts for whom the subject was not mandatory.
​Immediate Implementation: Issue the decision urgently before educators dive into detailed unit instruction, avoiding disruption to academic schedules and reducing strain on teachers and students.
​Mitigating Cumulative Burden: Relief for the cumulative academic pressure on the 2009 cohort, who completed intensive English coursework during their first secondary year, to prevent negative impacts on their performance in other subjects.
