The Media Commission issued a circular to print and electronic publications, radio and television broadcasting stations, and accredited foreign media institutions prohibiting the publication or circulation of any news, information, or material regarding the Jordanian Armed Forces, unless officially issued by the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, as the sole authority authorized to issue statements and releases.
The Commission clarified that the circular specifically addresses refraining from discussing or circulating any information concerning appointments and retirements within the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army, or publishing them across websites, news agencies, media platforms, and social media sites, considering such actions an information breach that inherently insults officers of the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army.
The Commission stressed the necessity of strictly adhering to the contents of the official letter as stated, and avoiding the circulation or publication of any information concerning the Armed Forces unless authorized for release by the responsible official source.
