The National Charter Party expressed its pride in the positions voiced by His Majesty King Abdullah II in his address before the United Nations General Assembly, which embodied the firm stance of the Jordanian state regarding the Palestinian cause, as well as Jordan's security, sovereignty, and national interests, while presenting a clear address to the world opposing Israeli violations and de facto policies in the region.
The party affirmed its full support for the royal stance rejecting forced displacement attempts against the Palestinian people, settlement expansion, land confiscation, and actual annexation in the West Bank, along with the continued attacks and destruction of civilian infrastructure in the Gaza Strip. It stressed that the Palestinian cause cannot be reduced to crisis management or temporary ceasefires, but rather requires a just and lasting solution that guarantees the Palestinian people their legitimate rights and the establishment of an independent, viable state.
The National Charter Party emphasized that His Majesty's statements before the international community place the world before its legal and moral responsibilities, noting that double standards in applying international law and the absence of accountability for violations threaten the international security and stability system and undermine trust in international institutions and charters.
The party stressed that Jordan's security, sovereignty, and national interests are red lines, describing the King's stance against any threat to the Kingdom's northern borders or water security as a unified national position. Jordan will not accept having its borders, resources, or the security of its people serve as an arena for the repercussions of expansionist policies or forced realities.
The party renewed its standing behind His Majesty in upholding the Hashemite Custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, preserving the historical and legal status quo, supporting the resilience and legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and continuing support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
Recalling the clear message delivered by His Majesty's address to the world, the National Charter Party reiterated that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, will remain a country of peace and dialogue, yet one that safeguards its sovereignty and refuses to compromise on its security and national principles.
The party concluded by emphasizing that a just peace is not achieved through force, imposing facts on the ground, displacing populations, or confiscating land, but rather by restoring rights, respecting international law, ending the occupation, and opening a genuine political horizon leading to an independent, sovereign Palestinian state.
