Chief of the Royal Hashemite Court Yousef Hassan Al-Issawi, head of the follow-up committee for the implementation of Royal Initiatives, inspected on Wednesday several Royal Initiative projects in Zarqa Governorate.
The tour comes as part of ongoing field follow-ups on Royal Initiative projects, following royal directives. It included completed projects to inspect their operation and the sustainability of services provided to target groups, as well as projects under construction to review progress and completion rates, ensuring execution according to approved specifications and standards to achieve their intended goals and maximize their developmental and social impact.
Al-Issawi began his tour, in the presence of Minister of Youth Raed Al-Adwan and Acting Governor of Zarqa Dr. Mohiuddin Al-Adwan, by inspecting the nucleus of the sports city in Russeifa District. The project was implemented following royal directives during a previous visit by His Majesty the King to Russeifa, and included the construction of a regulation football pitch forming the nucleus of a sports city to serve the local community in general and youth in particular.
Al-Issawi toured the project facilities, constructed on a land area of about 100 dunams, which includes a regulation-sized football pitch and stands, alongside an administrative building with offices, player changing rooms, and sanitary facilities.
During the visit, Al-Issawi also reviewed the proposed site for establishing a model youth center to serve the youth of Russeifa city, following royal directives issued after the recent royal visit to Zarqa Governorate last May.
Al-Issawi emphasized the importance of continuing to develop sports and youth facilities and raising their readiness, expanding the base of beneficiaries and providing youth with an appropriate environment to engage in athletic, cultural, and community activities, harness their energies, and develop their capabilities.
In Russeifa District, Al-Issawi inspected the construction project of the Military Culture School (Khadija Bint Khuwailid Secondary School for Girls), in the presence of Dr. Al-Adwan, Head of the University Education Department at the Directorate of Education and Military Culture Brigadier General Amjad Al-Naimat, and Director of the Military Housing and Works Establishment Colonel Tareq Ghneimat, touring the project's facilities, where structural completion reached 100 percent.
The project consists of two three-story buildings (basement, ground, and first floor), containing 31 classrooms with a capacity of 900 students from 7th to 12th grade, two computer labs, two science labs, and administrative offices, with furnishing and equipping scheduled to begin soon.
Al-Issawi noted the importance of completing the school's equipping according to required standards to ensure a suitable educational environment for students, stressing that developing educational infrastructure and upgrading facility efficiency represent a fundamental pillar in improving the quality of educational services.
Al-Issawi also inspected, in the presence of Dr. Al-Adwan, the construction project for a new building for Rabaa Al-Dhulail Mixed Elementary School in Al-Dhulail Sub-district.
Al-Issawi was briefed on the progress of work on the project, where completion reached about 99 percent, executed using prefabricated construction systems. It consists of 12 classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, a teachers' room, and a nursery, alongside courtyards and a five-a-side football field.
Al-Issawi stressed the importance of completing the remaining works as quickly as possible and according to approved specifications to enable the school's operation and utilization soon, pointing out that improving the school environment and providing appropriate facilities contribute to elevating educational services provided to students.
Al-Issawi also visited the "Ajeen Time" food truck, one of the food trucks under Phase Two of the Food Truck Initiative, accompanied by Dr. Al-Adwan and Chairman of the Greater Zarqa Municipal Committee Eng. Khaled Al-Khashman.
Al-Issawi observed the "Ajeen Time" food truck project experience, its nature of work, and the products offered. He listened to a brief from beneficiary Haya Abu Hammour about her experience with the project and the opportunity provided by the initiative to leverage her culinary skills into a productive project and source of income, as well as the support provided through training, qualification, and technical follow-up to develop and sustain her business.
The "Ajeen Time" truck belongs to beneficiary Haya Abu Hammour, 33, who holds a diploma in culinary arts and was unemployed prior to benefiting from the initiative. She began operating the food truck last April in the New Zarqa area.
Phase Two of the initiative was launched on May 8, 2025, aiming to employ unemployed youth and empower them to launch productive and entrepreneurial projects, involving the operation of 25 food trucks distributed across vital and tourist areas in various governorates across the Kingdom.
Beneficiaries are selected based on technical criteria considering the economic feasibility of projects, as well as subjecting applicants to practical, live cooking tests.
Al-Issawi highlighted the significance of such projects in empowering youth and transforming their skills into tangible production opportunities, emphasizing the necessity of combining work tools with training, qualification, and continuous follow-up to enhance project success and sustainability while expanding a culture of self-employment and self-reliance.
Al-Issawi also inspected, in the presence of Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh and Dr. Al-Adwan, the Arab Mosque and its adjacent public park, reviewing their facilities and activities organized by the mosque.
It is worth noting that a package of projects and works for the mosque and adjacent park was executed under Royal Initiatives following royal directives. These works included establishing a public park surrounding the mosque equipped with an integrated playground unit, a five-a-side football field, walking and recreational paths among green spaces, and a designated children's play area, with the park inaugurated in October 2021.
Works also included constructing parking spaces, executing maintenance and renovation for the mosque, providing a means of transportation, and equipping the mosque's Islamic Cultural Center with necessary supplies for its programs and activities.
Al-Issawi watched a video highlighting the volume of activities and programs executed by the mosque, both internally and externally.
Al-Issawi emphasized the importance of preserving completed projects and facilities, maintaining their readiness and ongoing upkeep to ensure the continuity of services provided to citizens, pointing out that field follow-up for Royal Initiatives is not limited to the construction phase, but extends to ensuring smooth operation, sustained impact, and achievement of objectives.
For his part, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh praised the care and attention given by His Majesty King Abdullah II to houses of worship across the Kingdom to serve as platforms for truth, wisdom, preaching, and education.
In a related context, Al-Issawi visited the Caucasian Sports Club in Hashemiya District during his tour in Zarqa Governorate, in the presence of Dr. Al-Adwan, where he inspected the club's administration building, facilities, and equipment.
Al-Issawi listened to an explanation from those in charge of the project regarding the components of the building, which spans an area of about 300 square meters across two floors, featuring a meeting room and administrative offices.
It is worth noting that the Caucasian Club was founded in 1932.
In press statements, Al-Issawi confirmed that several Royal Initiative projects in Zarqa Governorate were inspected to review progress. The tour included projects under construction to assess completion rates and ensure execution as planned, as well as previously completed initiatives to ensure their operation and management fulfill their goals in serving target groups.
Al-Issawi stated that this inspection visit comes in implementation of continuous royal directives to conduct field visits and inspect project progress, identify obstacles and challenges if any, and develop direct and swift solutions in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure efficiency and speed of execution.
Al-Issawi emphasized that Royal Initiatives stem from the needs and priorities of local communities and translate into practical projects and programs across the educational, youth, productive, social, and service sectors, stressing the continuation of field follow-ups for completed and ongoing projects to guarantee quality execution, service sustainability, and maximized impact on target beneficiaries.
He added that among the projects included in the tour was an entrepreneurial food truck project belonging to a young woman under the Food Truck Initiative, which received interest and turnout from youth to assist them in establishing their own businesses in food and beverage services, enabling them to become productive citizens.
