Malmö — Director of Fuheis Festival, Ayman Samawi, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Executive Director of the Malmö International Oud and Song Festival, Yousef Badr, to enhance cultural and artistic cooperation and facilitate the exchange of expertise and programming between both entities.
The agreement outlines framework areas for joint collaboration in artistic programs and events, encouraging artist and musician participation, and sharing organizational expertise in festival management to expand networking avenues for creatives.
Ayman Samawi affirmed that Jordan possesses a rich cultural and artistic heritage across music, song, and performing arts, emphasizing that Fuheis Festival serves as a key national platform supporting the cultural movement, hosting regional artists, and spotlighting Jordanian and Arab talent.
Samawi added that collaborating with the Malmö Festival aligns with Jordan's strategy to broaden its global cultural footprint, showcase the local creative landscape, and foster international partnerships that afford Jordanian artists new opportunities for cross-cultural engagement.
For his part, Yousef Badr, Executive Director of the Malmö International Oud and Song Festival, noted that the partnership carries significant international value by linking two initiatives dedicated to bringing Arab music and song to multicultural audiences.
Badr explained that the cooperation enables both festivals to exchange artists, programs, and operational knowledge, presenting Arab musical performances on international stages while bridging connections between artists and audiences across Europe and the Arab world.
