Head of the Sales and Business Strategy Department at the Jordanian Design and Development Center (Goodby), Rateb Abu Al-Ragheb, said that cyber attacks last year caused global losses amounting to nearly 20 billion dollars.
Abu Al-Ragheb, Godby’s spokesman, added in a meeting with “ The Kingdom ” on the sidelines of the announcement of the first competition of its kind in the Middle East and Africa region specialized in the fields of cybersecurity and cryptography, “ARMYTHON 2023,” that “no one is safe from cyber attacks; There are successive attacks hitting the world."
He explained that every approximately 12 seconds there is a “ransomware” attack, and this affects the global economy.
Regarding the competition, he pointed out that it is specialized and the first of its kind in the Middle East and Africa in the fields of cybersecurity and encryption, with 12 teams from 10 countries participating. It also contains more than 120 challenges in 7 different fields, which will sharpen experiences.
He pointed out that the competition is cybersecurity training, indicating that the results of the competition will be announced on Monday.
Today, the Jordanian Center for Design and Development (Goodby) launched the first competition of its kind in the Middle East and Africa region specializing in the fields of cybersecurity and encryption, “ARMYTHON 2023”.
The competition was designed for specialists and experts from the armies and security services, under the patronage of the Vice Chairman of the Center’s Directors/General Director, Brigadier General Ayman Ahmed Al-Batran.
