Dead Sea, September 5, 2023: As part of its sponsorship of the second edition of the Artificial Intelligence in Defense Technology and Cybersecurity Conference and Exhibition (AIDTSEC 2023), and on the sidelines of its participation in this most prominent and important event in the region; Zain Jordan, through its innovation platform (ZINC), held the finals of the (Attack and Defense) cybersecurity competition (ZINC Capture The Flag 2023), the first phase of which was held last month, during which 10 teams were qualified to compete in this competition. the final level.
The competition was held yesterday, Monday, during the activities of the first day of the conference, during which the participating teams, which included 35 students and experts, competed over a period of 8 continuous hours, using the attack-defense method, which includes attacking and defending computer systems within a simulated environment, and trying to control a network or virtual system and maintain They can exploit vulnerabilities, perform penetration testing, or solve various security-related tasks to gain access to and maintain the target environment, while at the same time protecting against other attackers.
The competition ended with the (PWNSEC) team winning first place and receiving a cash prize worth 2,000 dinars, the (G2) team winning second place and receiving a cash prize worth 1,000 dinars, while the third place winning team (R41N) received a cash prize worth 500 dinars.
Zain’s creativity platform, as part of its participation in the conference, provided the opportunity for 5 Jordanian startups: (Curans), (Semesteer), (Tamarras), (The World of Plants), and (Kitchefy), which were selected within the sixth edition of the conference. The “Zain Initiative” program and joined the incubation program offered by the platform for a full year. To participate and attend the activities of this conference, this is done by allocating a space for each company in the Zain Innovation Platform pavilion, to provide them with the opportunity to network and present their work and introduce the attendees and companies participating in this event, to expand their business and exchange experiences and knowledge, as the conference witnessed wide participation from several countries and a large attendance from Experts, specialized speakers, companies and those interested in this field.
It is noteworthy that Zain had an extensive participation in this event, through the “Zain Business” pavilion, through which it displayed the latest business solutions and advanced electronic security systems that it provides to its customers from the business sectors, in addition to its participation in one of the discussion sessions discussed at the conference. Which was titled “Artificial Intelligence in Communications”, as Zain’s sponsorship and participation in this important event came within the framework of its keenness to be present in the most important conferences and events held in the Kingdom, especially those that cover topics and fields that keep pace with the digital acceleration that the world is currently witnessing, and to contribute to Spreading awareness in Jordan and highlighting how to confront cybersecurity challenges in light of the increasing cyber risks around the world, by sharing solutions and experiences with institutions and companies specialized in this field.
