The government decided on Wednesday to raise the price of both types of gasoline next month, while fixing the price of diesel and kerosene, according to a statement by the Ministry of Energy.
The Petroleum Derivatives Pricing Committee held its monthly meeting to determine the selling prices of oil derivatives locally for the period from (1-29 February), as the international prices of crude oil and oil derivatives during the month of January were reviewed and compared to their counterparts for the month of December.
According to the statement, “After applying the price equation according to international prices on all oil derivatives, it was found that the price of gasoline 90 increased by (15) fils / liter and the price of gasoline 95 increased by (20) fils / liter, while there was no change in the price of diesel.”
Subsequently, the committee decided to “raise the selling price of 90-octane gasoline to become (910) fils/liter instead of (895) fils/liter, and raise the selling price of 95-octane gasoline to become (1150) fils/liter instead of (1130) fils/liter, and to maintain the price of diesel at (720) fils/liter.”
The committeee also decided to fix the price of kerosene for the month of February at 620 fils/liter, and to keep the price of a gas cylinder at 7 dinars/cylinder.
