There is one simple recipe for success, which is that one sets for himself a noble goal and decides decisively to achieve this goal. However, despite the simplicity of this recipe, successful people are rare, and therefore the experience of these people must be circulated to people so that they can be a good role model for young people to follow.
Dr. Maher Ahmed Al-Hourani is one of the most prominent Jordanian figures who represents a true success story. He is an exceptional personality, as he did not let the accounts of money, profit and loss control him, as is the case with most businessmen. Rather, he searched for excellence in all fields. The man devoted his effort to preserving and preserving the legacy of his late father, Ahmed Al-Hourani, who founded Al-Ahliyya Amman University in 1990, making it today one of the most important universities, not only at the level of Jordan, but also in the Arab world and internationally.
In addition to the opening of dozens of modern specializations required in the labor market and the opening of new colleges, including the College of Dentistry, and the university obtaining all accreditations and quality control certificates, and its brilliance in the Times classification, last year the university entered the club of the best thousand universities in the world according to the prestigious “QS” international classification of universities. It was ranked (801-850) globally, being first among private Jordanian universities, and third among public and private Jordanian universities.
Recently, “on the very day of Eid,” the “QS” global classification by specialization “Subject Ranking” for the year 2024 was issued, and it was not surprising that we saw Al-Ahliyya Amman University ranked among the best universities in the world in three specializations.
The news was published after the Eid on all websites and daily newspapers, and it received great popularity and very encouraging positive reactions. We contacted our colleague, the university’s media advisor, congratulating the university on that, which is what prompted us to write this article.
In this latest edition of the classification of programs and majors, the university was identified as one of the best universities in the world for studying hospitality management majors, ranked 101-150 in the world, arts and humanities majors, ranked 451-500 in the world, and computer science and information systems majors, ranked 651. -700 on the world.
In the general global classification of universities, which is expected to be issued next June, the odds indicate that Al-Ahliyya Amman University will be among the best (600) universities in the world.
These great achievements would not have been achieved had Dr. Al-Hourani not set them as his goals, harnessed all efforts and capabilities to them, and attracted the best talents to build a teaching and administrative staff at the highest level, in a manner befitting a university that has taken excellence and leadership as its title throughout its career.
