Amman – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office announced on Saturday that Israel will send a delegation to Doha on Monday to discuss with international mediators the continuation of the ceasefire in Gaza, which began on January 19.
In a statement, Netanyahu's office said, "Israel accepts the invitation of the US-backed mediators and will send a delegation to Doha on Monday to advance the negotiations."
Meanwhile, Hamas spokesperson Abdel Latif Al-Qanou said on Saturday that the movement sees positive indications regarding the start of the second phase of ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.
He added in a statement, "The efforts of Egyptian and Qatari mediators continue to complete the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and begin negotiations for the second phase, and the indications are positive in this regard."
He continued, "We affirm our readiness to engage in the second-phase negotiations to achieve our people's demands and call for intensified efforts to provide relief to Gaza and lift the blockade on our suffering people."
