The government estimated its need for 10.470 billion Jordanian dinars to implement major projects that it plans to implement in partnership with the private sector within the economic modernization vision (2023-2025).
According to the executive program of the vision of economic modernization, among the projects that the government intends to establish is the management and operation of the multi-purpose port within the new Aqaba port area at a cost of 10 million dinars, as well as the management and operation of King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba at a cost of 50 million dinars.
The major projects also include the establishment of a medical university through the Saudi-Jordanian Fund at a value of 290 million dinars, a project to produce green hydrogen and green ammonia at a cost of 4 billion dinars, and a water desalination and transportation project (the national carrier) at a cost of 3 billion dinars.
In addition, the national railway network project (Phase I Aqaba-Amman) at a cost of 1.9 billion dinars, the Jordanian-Saudi electrical interconnection project at a cost of 30 million dinars, and the Jordanian-Saudi electrical interconnection project at a cost of 39 million dinars.
The executive program of the vision indicated that the projects also include raising the capacity of the electrical interconnection line between Jordan and Egypt to 1100 megawatts, a project to establish 15 schools in partnership with the private sector at a cost of 46 million dinars, and a project to construct cargo and passenger yards buildings for the new King Hussein Crossing Bridge at a cost of 225 million dinars.
The government estimated its need for 400 million dinars for toll road projects, in addition to 300 million dinars for the Aqaba Container Port development and rehabilitation project.
