SALT / KARAK
In a powerful display of national solidarity, the city of Salt is preparing to light candles tomorrow, Saturday, at Al-Khader Church at 7:30 PM, honoring the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Karak Governorate and reaffirming the unbreakable unity of the Jordanian people.
A moving civic call circulating among residents emphasizes that the pain felt in Karak is shared by every home across the Kingdom. "From Salt to Karak, your pain is our pain, your tears are our tears, and your ordeal is the ordeal of every Jordanian who believes this homeland unites us regardless of our places of worship," the statement read.
Organizers noted that the vigil aims to send a resolute national message that terrorism will never strip Jordanians of their shared humanity, tear apart their social fabric, or extinguish the light of coexistence. "Tomorrow, from the heart of Salt, candles will be lit not merely to illuminate the space, but to reaffirm a national message in the hearts of all Jordanians, praying for the souls of the martyrs," the call stated.
Highlighting the historic bond between the nation's communities, the message added: "Here in Salt, minarets embrace church bells, and hearts meet in their love for Jordan... We are here to tell our families in Karak that we stand with you not just with words, but with our hearts and our stances."
Citizens across Salt and surrounding areas have been urged to attend the gathering at Al-Khader Church, underscoring that under the Hashemite leadership, Jordan remains an undivided household where Muslims and Christians stand shoulder-to-shoulder as brothers in life and partners in destiny.
