“MOFF” stresses that the danger of the expansion of the war increases with each day since the killing and destruction inflicted by Israel in Gaza continues.
The Israeli aggression on Gaza exceeded all humanitarian, legal and moral limits
Represinitive of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi said on Monday that the Israeli aggression on Gaza exceeded all humanitarian, legal and moral boundaries in a way that drops any argument used for the Security Council not to adopt a binding resolution to stop it.
In a phone call from French minister of foreign affairs Catherine Colonna, whose country chairs the Security Council for this month, Safadi stressed that the risk of the war expanding increases with each day that the killing and destruction Israel inflicts on Gaza continues.
Safadi also stressed that the inability of the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and take a firm position that imposes the cessation of aggression reflects double standards and dangerous selectivity in the application of international law, and causes great damage to the status, reputation and interests of many Western countries.
Safadi and Colonna stressed the need to bring adequate and immediate humanitarian, food and medical aid to the entire Gaza Strip, and to continue cooperation in aid delivery efforts, including through airdrops.
The two ministers also affirmed the positions of the two countries in rejecting the displacement of Palestinians inside and outside their homeland, and stressed the right of the displaced in Gaza to return to their areas in northern Gaza and the need to start this return immediately.
Safadi stressed that the brutal aggression on Gaza will not bring security to Israel, and agreed with his French counterpart that the two-state solution is the only way to achieve peace and security for all in the region.
Safadi warned that Israel's illegal measures and aggression against Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem are pushing towards an explosion of the situation, stressing the need for the international community to take a firm and effective position to stop them.
Safadi also said that it is unacceptable for the international community to allow the Israeli prime minister and the racist extremist ministers in his government to drag the region into a regional war to directly involve the West, to prolong the political life of his government, and to make the fate of the region inevitable for more conflict and destruction.
The two ministers affirmed the continuation of consultations on ways to end the disaster in Gaza and build on the outcomes of the summit that brought together His Majesty King Abdullah II and French President Emmanuel Macron in Aqaba on December 21, 2023.
It is noteworthy that Jordan and France have strengthened the partnership in providing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the Royal Medical Services and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, and France has provided in-kind and medical assistance to support the work of Jordanian field hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
