Dr. Abdul Karim Abu Dalou, spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, clarified on Monday that a video circulating on social media—showing an individual claiming he could issue Jordanian National Identification Numbers in exchange for money—is outdated.
According to the Ministry, the footage was originally published outside the Kingdom in December 2024. Authorities issued a warrant for the suspect on December 22, 2024, shortly after the video first appeared.
The spokesperson confirmed that the individual, who has a prior criminal record, was apprehended and referred to the Amman Public Prosecutor for legal action. He is currently serving time at the Muwaqqar Correctional and Rehabilitation Center. The Ministry urged citizens to disregard the recirculated video and rely on official channels for civil documentation.
