The White House confirmed on Wednesday that President Donald Trump has not established a specific deadline by which Iran must submit a proposal to end the war.
White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt told reporters, "The President has not set a deadline for receiving an Iranian proposal, contrary to some reports I have seen today. Ultimately, the Commander-in-Chief will determine the timeline."
Regarding Iran's detention of two container ships, Leavitt indicated that Trump does not consider the incident a violation of the ceasefire because the vessels are neither American nor Israeli.
Speaking to Fox News, Leavitt clarified the President's stance on whether the seizure constituted a breach of the truce: "No, because they are not American ships, nor are they Israeli. They are international ships."
She added that the Iranians "do not control the Strait (of Hormuz). What we are witnessing is piracy."
