Israeli occupation forces mounted an incursion on Sunday into the village of Ofaniya in the northern Quneitra countryside, with the invading force comprising more than five tanks and nearly 20 military vehicles carrying troops.
The Israeli forces also reached the vicinity of Ein Al-Nouriya village and approached the Tel Al-Ahmar area in the northern Quneitra countryside.
This incursion comes as occupation forces continue their assaults on southern Syria and their violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement. On Saturday, Israeli forces renewed shelling in the vicinity of the town of Beit Jann in the Damascus countryside and fired an artillery shell toward the village of Ein Al-Sha'ara that landed in agricultural land, with no injuries reported.
Syrian Foreign Minister As'ad Al-Shaibani emphasized in statements during the 166th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level that Syria adheres to a diplomatic solution and is working to end Israeli attacks, arrests, and incursions.
For its part, the UN Commission of Inquiry on Syria expressed grave concern over Israeli violations, indicating that the continuation of these practices constitutes a violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, describing the situation as unacceptable and demanding that it stop.
