Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday that the Israeli military will topple the Iranian regime, as well as deal with and bring down the Lebanese Hezbollah militia.
Netanyahu's remarks came during a ceremony honoring outstanding personnel in the 2025 Israeli internal security program, according to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office.
Netanyahu emphasized that "many successes have been achieved in the West Bank," explaining that "in the West Bank, 1,000 attacks were thwarted. This means 1,000 attempts to kill our people, marking brilliant successes. These successes were achieved thanks to your work and cooperation with the IDF and all security services."
Netanyahu clarified that "Israel will settle scores with those who remain of Hamas in Gaza; we are dealing with them, and no one is immune."
The Israeli Prime Minister added: "We will eliminate Hamas, and first and foremost, we will defeat the regime in Iran and topple it, and we will also deal with Hezbollah, and it too will fall."
In a related context, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Thursday that "Hamas faces a difficult strategic reality," confirming that "Israel will continue to work to achieve its security goals and ensure that the October 7 attack is never repeated."
Katz added via his account on "X" that "Israel will not allow Iran or any other party to rearm Hamas." Addressing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Katz stated that if he wishes to assist those he described as his "ideological brothers" in Gaza, he should invite them to move to Antalya, adding that "his foot will not step into Gaza."
Katz stressed that "the battle is not over yet," noting that Israel faces what he described as major objectives against Iran and on other fronts.
He stated that his country will act with "military force and political wisdom" to achieve those goals.
