Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky revealed on Friday that Egypt, India, Turkey, and other Middle Eastern countries are participating in talks aimed at resolving the navigation crisis in the Black Sea.
​In a briefing to reporters via WhatsApp, Zelensky stated, "Egypt, India, Turkey, and representatives from the Middle East are participating. I held separate talks with the leaders of these countries, and our Foreign Ministry has also communicated with their counterparts in those nations." He added that, alongside these countries, there have also been proposals from other nations to unblock the Black Sea.
​Meanwhile, US mediation efforts to end the conflict resumed in September. US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner visited Kyiv and Moscow earlier this month, holding talks with Zelensky, as well as with Putin in Russia.
​On Monday, Zelensky noted that Ukraine is ready to take "de-escalation steps" if Russia reciprocates. Additionally, during his address to the UN General Assembly on Wednesday, Zelensky condemned the "madness" of Russian President Vladimir Putin and urged allies to maintain the sanctions imposed on Moscow.
